With the growing number of electric vehicles on the road and the possibility of a motor vehicle accident involving one of these vehicles continuing to grow daily, Chief Kirchner saw a need and contacted the Manheim Auto Auction to request help in securing a safer way to disable these vehicles while on the scene of accidents. General Manager Joey Hughes was generous to cover the cost of two of these units for the fire company while purchasing several of them to keep on hand at the Manheim Site.
The Manheim Auto Auction, being the world's largest auto auction, has the potential to have over 800+ Electric vehicles on site. With that number continuing to grow as the market does, the increased potential for calls related to Electric Vehicles continues to grow! The Manheim Fire Company is thankful for the relationship it has with the Auto Auction and its continued support for our team! Thank you to General Manager Joey Hughes, Security Manager Carol Nessinger, and MAA business partner Greg Karbownski and the Manheim Auto Auction.
