Crews started their morning at Baron Elementary, teaching students about fire prevention and safety.
Shortly before 1pm, Manheim Fire and Rescue 28 (Penryn Fire Company), were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment at the intersection of Lebanon and E-Town road in Rapho Township. Rescue 26 responded with 4 in under 1 minute of being dispatched. When R26 arrived, all occupants were out of the vehicle, holding the response to station 26. Shortly after 3:30pm, crews were dispatched to a Class 2 motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Auction and Junction road in Penn township. Rescue 26, with 5 personnel, made the response within a minute of being dispatched. Upon arrival, R26 found 2 vehicles in a field, with one occupant trapped. The Rescue crew removed both driver’s side doors and provided patient care to assist EMS, while Engine 26 provided fire suppression coverage. The patient was in the care of EMS in under 10 minutes of R26 being on scene.
Shortly after 7pm, crews were dispatched to the intersection of Fruitville Pike and Sego Sago road in Penn township for the 3rd motor vehicle accident of the day. Rescue and Engine 26 made the response and cleared about an hour later.
Throughout the day, numerous members staffed the firehouse to ensure that the highest level of fire and rescue services were being provided. |
