Volunteers remained very busy today answering two calls for service. The engine and tanker battled a 3rd alarm barn fire, handling multiple tasks while on scene. Crews remained on scene for nearly 6 hours. Just as the engine cleared the fire, they were dispatched along with Rescue 80 to handle a vehicle with roll over and entrapment. Chief and Deputy 26 arrived shortly after dispatch and confirmed no entrapment.
Manheim Fire would like to thank Columbia Borough Fire Department Station 80 for standing by for us during the barn fire. This ensured that Manheim's fire district remained covered while a large number of surrounding units remained at the barn fire.
